The weatherman finally got it right --- it snowed here in Columbia. About 4:00 PM on Friday, the flakes began to fall and didn't stop until sometime overnight. We were so excited! Eric was home from work early, and we didn't have a stitch of plans for the evening. It was a perfect ending to an interesting day (see previous post).
These first few pictures are about 30 minutes into the snowfall. It was perfect, fluffy, powdery snow not the wet/icy/sleety snow that South Carolina usually gets.
When Madeline got up from her nap, we donned our warmest coats and ventured outside. No my child does not have gloves nor does she have a really functional winter coat, so needless to say, she was not dressed properly for this adventure. But, that's okay because she had a blast in the snow. As a matter of fact, we brought her in because her little hands were like ice blocks and bright red, her shoes were soaked, and it was just time to come inside to get warm. Our very independent child who has a mind of her own very loudly let us know she was not happy about coming inside...a dramatic ending to the snow adventure.
