Eric's Birthday

My sweet fella is 37!  We celebrated just the two of us on Monday.  We went to the gun range to shoot handguns.  Eric was so impressed with my instructor that he requested a formal lesson to sharpen his already gun savvy skills.  The two of us shared a lane after his lesson, and we shot at the target.  Eric's holes were spot on, and mine, well, I still need a little practice.  But, it was fun for the birthday boy, and I was much more relaxed making mistakes in front of Eric.  Afterwards we headed to the Liberty Tap Room on the Lake for some dinner and birthday celebrating.  It was a nice "just us" evening.

Meanwhile, at home, the fabulous Ms. Kristen was holding down the fort with our monkeys.  She's such a sweet girl, and she loves my girls dearly.  And, my girls think she's a princess.

On Eric's birthday, the girls and I made him an ice cream sandwich cake complete with 37 candles.

We are so fortunate to have Eric as our solo man of the house.  His patience and love for us is incredible.  Madeline sums it up perfectly, "WE have THE.BEST.DADDY.EVER!"
Happy 37th birthday!

Pumpkins 2012

Our little family had fun carving our pumpkins this year.  Although the girls we not too enthralled with the pumpkin insides, they enjoyed the final products!  Madeline requested a kitty again this year, so Daddy was able to create another kitty masterpiece.  Of course, Mommy wanted something Clemson, so we tweaked our neighbor's Palmetto tree & moon stencil a bit.
Amelia was NOT a fan of the pumpkin insides.  She was incredibly bent out of shape that Daddy put the spoon full of insides in her face!
Madeline patiently waiting to help make the markings on the outside for the kitty face.
 Hardworking Daddy
The Kitty!!  Amelia was so excited.  She repeated, "Meow!" over and over.
 My Clemson pumpkin
These next few pictures make me cringe thinking about trying to get a Christmas card photo.

At least both girls are facing the camera and smiling...

 Yoo Hoo!!  Amelia!!!
 Madeline was losing steam.

 Madeline was over.it.
Amelia just walked off into the house.

Happy Pumpkin Carving!

Daddy's In Charge

I went away on a girls' weekend, and I found this picture on our camera!  Daddy time is the best!

My sources tell me that upon arrival at church, both girls were dressed adorably AND with bloomers and bows!  As an added bonus, I came home to a clean, tidy kitchen!

Girls weekend plus a well kept household = total bliss for this Mama

Thanks honey!  We had a fabulous time.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Eric had a long workday on his birthday, and we were sad that the girls would not be awake when he got home from his case in Asheville to celebrate his birthday.  (Birthdays are becoming much for fun for us now that the girls enjoy celebrating someone's special day!)  After dinner, we made a banner to hang on the garage door, so Daddy would have a birthday greeting from his babies.  Who knew sign making would be such a fun project!?

Madeline helped me make brownies for Daddy.
I got the girls nestled in the bed and prepared a little birthday dinner celebration for my hardworking honey.  It was a nice evening, and Eric felt loved most importantly!
Happy 36th Birthday to the special man in our lives!  We LOVE you!

First S'more Roast

We broke in the new fire pit with a post bath time s'more roast!  What fun!  Daddy was in his element collecting wood and building the fire.
Madeline was very excited to be able to come back down after her bath to roast a s'more.  Amelia just can't hang, so she was already in the bed.
Happy Daddy with his new fire pit
It really was a lovely evening to be outside.

Loading up the skewer with a marshmallow
Madeline enjoyed roasting the marshmallow, but she's really all about the end result.
Madeline couldn't get her hands on one of these fast enough!
YUM!
All smiles!
Savoring every bite
Daddy and his sweet girl - notice the bracelets.
We admired the moon.

What a great evening!

Evening Fun

Over the weekend, we had the most gorgeous weather, and the girls took late naps which means late to bed. We decided to go on an evening bike ride.

Amelia was all for it!
Madeline got a new bike helmet on Saturday, so, of course, we tested it out. However, it was dark outside even thought it was only 6:00 PM, so Eric decided to give Madeline light. He attached his camo hunting headlamp to her helmet! She thought it was fabulous. I thought it was redneck and hilarious!
Madeline was digging her princess helmet and her flashlight!

The evening was perfect for a little family stroll. The weather gave us spring fever for sure!

Miss Amelia living it up past 6:00 PM!

Madeline loved leading the way!

Good times in the Stewart household!
