McCarthy Lake Weekend

My family held its annual McCarthy Summer Lake Weekend this past weekend, and as always, it was a blast.  The weather wasn't the best, but we didn't let a few clouds and a little rain shower spoil our fun!  There was lots of boating, eating, laughing, talking, and enjoying the family time.  Madeline and Amelia love riding in the boat and being with my family!  They adore their aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course, Grandma & Grandpa rate pretty high on the adored list.

The girls braved the chilly water, but it didn't last too long.  Eric was a good sport and got in the lake with them.

Madeline was awesome on the tube.  She held her own for a good while, and she consistently gave thumbs up for Uncle Greg to speed up!
Uncle Eric and Ryan got out the BB gun to try to shoot Uncle Greg's pesky muskrats.  Boys and their toys...

It's never a complete boating adventure with Uncle Greg if we don't stop for ice cream.

I am so blessed to come from a family that is so close and truly enjoys being together!  My children are beyond blessed to have such a loving and close immediate family!  You can't choose your family, but I sure would choose this one over and over again if I was given the chance.  We are already looking forward to the fall holidays with the McCarthy clan!

Madeline's Dance Camp

Madeline started ballet and tap at her preschool, and she continues to love taking dance class.  We are very fortunate to have learned about a small dance school not far from our house from a friend in order to allow Madeline to continue ballet.  This dance school holds a summer camp each summer, and Madeline was so excited to attend ballet and tap camp for the week.  She LOVED it.

Throughout the week, the girls learned about The Nutcracker, created crafts, learned about nutrition, and of course, they danced and danced!  On the final day of camp, the class put on a performance based on The Nutcracker.

The girls created nutcracker dolls, and they used them during the performance.

The crown was also a big hit!

Madeline very much enjoyed dance camp.  I very much liked the studio, and we are super excited to start ballet class this fall.  It's going to be a good match for us, and we can't wait to see Madeline's growth as a ballerina!
