Birthday Manicure & Pedicure

To celebrate Madeline's birthday, we invited her best friend, Aubrey, from preschool to be with us for the day.  We picked her up at her church after they let out and headed to lunch at the very kid friendly Wild Wing.  These two girls are so silly together!  They had so much fun at lunch.

After lunch, I dropped Eric and Amelia off at the house and took the girls to a little place that does little girls manicures and pedicures.  Madeline and Aubrey were a little unsure of the whole process at first, but they quickly settled into the pampering experience.  It was very cute.  The girls were given a robe, a choice of scents for their pedicure water, and colors to choose from for their nails and toenails.

 

Each girl received royal treatment at the pedicure bowl - legs being scrubbed, a hot towel, lotion massages, and toenail painting.

Madeline was the perfect client letting her nails dry.

 

We ended the afternoon at the ice cream shop for giant ice cream cones.

 

Madeline and Aubrey enjoyed celebrating together.  It was a fun-filled, girly day!

More Farm Fun - Tractors & Horses!

Our farm fun continued into the next day!

Watching Madeline ride horses

Madeline persuaded Aunt Jen to bring out the retired, fancy show horse, Keely.  This horse is beautiful & quite large, and she was a step away from the Olympics back in her day.  Needless to say, Keely wasn't super pumped to have a beginner tot riding her, so Uncle Fuzz was the spotter.

Madeline was a natural and so comfortable during her ride.  It helps that Aunt Jen is probably the most relaxed coach ever!

Madeline wanted to do jumps on the horse, so Aunt Jen laid out a course of sorts.

Do you see the larger jumps the background of these pictures?  After Madeline did her jumps, she wanted to know when she was going to be able to do those higher ones.  Uncle Fuzz told her she needed some more lessons before she did those.  That little girl has no fear and is determined to ride horses. 

The farm's latest toy, the tractor.  My husband was like a little boy with a new toy driving this thing around.  If we had a use for one of these, I feel sure we'd have one by now! 

The farm weekends never disappoint - fabulous fun with our friends, horseback riding, and relaxation.  We can't wait for next time!

Fun at the Farm - Water Fun

Over the weekend, we were able to go visit our dearest friends, Aunt Jen, Uncle Fuzz, and Holston.  We had a blast.  For the first part of the day, we had some sprinkler fun.  The girls loved it almost as much as Uncle Fuzz.  He's a big kid himself. 

Uncle Fuzz was all kinds of supportive and encouraging of big splashes!

I'm pretty sure Holston is wondering who these wild people are - who puts her foot in the water table?

Amelia is probably conspiring with Holston - "We can take the Big One, I promise!  She's totally naive.  I live with her!"

Again, Holston is wondering who in the world these people are.  "One is blowing bubbles, and one has her foot in my water table!"

Holston:  "Okay, the splashing thing.  You might be onto something."

"Where in the world can a girl get a beverage and a snack up in here?"  (I LOVE this picture!)

Holston:  "Hey, hey, hey!  You wild women and your feet in my water table!"

Madeline:  "Sure, here you go!  On one condition..."

Madeline:  "Tell me where the BIG people keep the horses, or I'll take the bracelet back!"

Holston:  "Yea!  Uncle Cheese, Aunt Anne, Mad Dawg, and the Bedelia are so fun!"

"Ah!  They're spending the night!  Woo hoo!"
