Amelia's Latest Antics

This ball of fire started two year old preschool at the end of August!  Amelia loves preschool, and she adores Ms. Lisa.  Ms. Lisa is known as "MY Ms. Lisa" around here.  Amelia has had to be put in her place at school for showing possession over "HER Ms. Lisa" during class.  Amelia has grown up so much over the summer, and she is so ready to learn!  She is a little sponge in Ms. Lisa's room, and she also gives Ms. Lisa a little run for her money (just like she does to us at home!)  Ms. Lisa and I are working together to discipline her decisions NOT her quirky, enthusiastic personality.  It is a fine line, but Ms. Lisa is helping ME squash poor behavior while allowing her boisterous personality to shine.

This turkey will eat on the porch year round if she could.
Long days of keeping up with Big Sister's schedule caught up to her.  Car cat naps have become the norm these days.
Amelia waiting on Big Sister to finish homework.  She is so lonely and pitiful without her best friend, "Na-yennne Grace"!
While Madeline is at dance class on Tuesdays, sometimes I have a legit errand to do.  Sometimes we wander around strip malls.  On this day, we wandered ourselves into Shoe Carnival with no purpose except to play telephone with high heels.  Luckily, the store was dead, and our misbehavior was not frowned upon by anyone!
"Mommy!  You need dis high heel!"  Of course every stay at home mom needs a glitter gold high heel, Amelia!!!  I usually don't condone such nonsense in a store, but this shoe store experience was ridiculous.  Let's just hope her taste in shoe style changes with age!
Little Sister and I make the best of our "jus Mommy and Ahhh-mee-ya days"!

Wow! It's for Real!

My, my, my!  We have arrived to "big kid" school, and Madeline is so excited.  I'm pretty excited too.  I know she's "young", but I think she's ready for kindergarten.  Making new friends, learning all kinds of new stuff, learning to read, and being a "big kid" are Madeline's kindergarten goals.
Madeline's 4K teachers collect artwork, letter, number, colors, and shapes portfolios for each child, and at the end of the year, we received a culmination of her 4K year in her "suitcase" for kindergarten.  It was fun to look through each piece of work, and I could see the growth she made from September to May.  I can only imagine the leaps and bounds she will make in Kindergarten.
We aren't so sure little sister is going to like Madeline leaving and being gone all day at school.
Here we go!  Madeline has her supplies, her sweet disposition, and her excitement all ready to march through those school doors in August!

End of May Phone Dump

The end of May proved to be a busy few weeks for us.

Madeline and Amelia enjoyed their last day of school before summer break!

We had lots of playtime before the summer heat keeps us indoors.

We took the bed rails off of Madeline's bed in preparation for Amelia's move to a "big girl bed."  Madeline has done really well with this change.  She had a rough night one time when she fell out, but that was to be expected, I suppose.

Madeline started her swim lessons with Mr. Bill, and she has been doing so well.  All the different actions are starting to become uniform & natural for Madeline which means she's almost a full blown independent swimmer.  She's very proud of herself...slowly but surely it's starting to click.

Madeline's Dance Recital

Madeline had a terrific year in her tap & ballet class!  She continues to love dance class and was very proud of her recital!

Her special guest, Cousin Drew, was the highlight of her day!

What a fun day celebrating Madeline's year in dance.
